Since joining AKSET in early 2011, Alfa has fast become one of AKSET’s core practitioners in banking, finance, as well as mergers and acquisitions. Separately, she advises clients on liquidation, group restructuring, as well as share and bond issuance.
Alfa has been the leading support for banking and finance focus group in AKSET. She represents major banks within and outside Indonesia in various financing transactions, both offshore and onshore. One of her leading role in this practice was during the firm’s representation in a US$800million syndicated offshore financing from 23 international banks across Asia and Middle East for a prominent plantation group in South East Asia.
In M&A and corporate restructuring work, Alfa co-leads the firm’s team in representing multinational companies in acquiring stakes as well as assisting corporate restructuring in various leading financial technology platforms. She also represents clients in various M&A transactions in Indonesia, with the most recent representation of Japanese investors in acquiring a $530million valued stake in a household and hygiene-products manufacturing business.
Alfa co-leads the firm’s banking team in authoring the Indonesian chapter of Getting the Deal Through – Loans and Secured Financing. Since her early years of lawyering, Alfa has been immensely involved in teaching activities, both within and outside the firm, as shown in her extensive contribution to the firm’s internal professional development program and her participation to teach in Peradi, Jentera Law School, and Hukumonline. She speaks conversational Japanese and is the first lawyer in the firm to be placed in a one-year secondment program in the firm’s Japan desk, Mori Hamada Matsumoto. She graduates from Universitas Indonesia for her Sarjana Hukum degree.
