Dea is recognized throughout the region as an expert on Indonesian mining law. She also has a strong reputation in major projects and regularly advises Indonesian regulatory authorities in the electricity sector. Related practice areas include infrastructure, financing and M&A.

DEA IS THE YOUNGEST INDONESIAN TO BE NOMINATED TO THE WHO'S WHO LEGAL'S BEST MINING LAWYERS FOR 2010, 2011 AND 2012.

Dea represents domestic and international mining clients through every stage of their operations, from financing, licensing and land acquisition, exploration and production, through to post-project rehabilitation. She advises mining clients on domestic processing and divestment obligations and represents clients in negotiations with the government to reform their Contracts of Work.

Major infrastructure projects have included public ports and private terminals, hauling roads, independent power projects, and a major freight railway line in East Kalimantan. She has worked on some of the major power projects in Indonesia, advising consortium members and coal suppliers.

Dea has built strong relationships with many senior government officials, which means she can give clients the very latest information on the constantly evolving regulatory regime. She is actively involved in the legal and forestry committees of the Indonesian Mining Association, and she is often invited to speak on regulatory issues at conferences and in industry publications.

Dea is the author of the Indonesian chapters of Getting the Deal Through – Electricity Regulation and Getting the Deal Through – Ports and Terminals.

Dea graduated from the University of Indonesia in 1997 (Sarjana Hukum degree) and Duke University School of Law in 2003 (LL.M).
