Kadri has been praised by IFLR 1000 for being "Always available when contacted and recognized as a tough negotiator".
Kadri is AKSET’s current Managing Partner. He is a registered capital markets specialist and well-known expert on banking related transactions, and since founding AKSET, he has earned a strong reputation in large plantation and natural resources transactions. Recently, he is active in doing debt and corporate restructuring.
In respect of plantation transactions, Kadri represented Triputra Agro Persada (TAP) and its controlling shareholders in structuring a USD 200 million investment by Northstar Equity Partners and the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation and acted as TAP’s counsel in a USD 470 million loan syndication. He represents a Malaysian state corporation in a strategic joint venture in CPO projects in Central Kalimantan.
In respect of banking related transactions, during the Asian financial crisis of 1997-98, Kadri played a major role in the overhaul and divestment of Indonesia’s banks.
Most recently, he handled the acquisition of a significant stake in PT Bank ICB Bumiputera Tbk. by MNC Group from its Malaysian shareholders. Kadri advised the evaluation team of Indonesia Deposit Insurance Corporation (Lembaga Penjamin Simpanan – LPS) in the sale of PT Bank Mutiara Tbk. to J-Trust. He also handled the issuance of mandatory convertible bonds with value of IDR 300 billion by PT Sumberdaya Sewatama to PT Indonesia Infrastructure Finance.
Kadri’s other passions are performing music and advocating for public sector integrity and accountability. He is a well-known rock singer, and he uses his position as a public figure to act as a powerful voice in the Indonesian anti-corruption movement.
Kadri graduated from the University of Indonesia in 1988 (Sarjana Hukum degree) and attended the School of Business at Cleveland State University, Ohio.
